General Information
EventsArrival of King Théoden at Dunharrow

Írensaga was a tall peak in the White Mountains, notable for its saw-toothed[1] crest[2].

In between Írensaga, Starkhorn and Dwimorberg lay Harrowdale.[1] Merry saw this mountain on 9 March T.A. 3019 when King Théoden came to Dunharrow after the Battle of the Hornburg.[3]

Etymology

Írensaga is a name in the language of Rohan,[2] "translated" into Old English[4], which means "iron-saw"[2] or "Ironsaw"[5] with reference to its serrated ridge, crest[2].

In earlier drafts, Írensaga lacked an accent.[5]
