Úmanyar were the Elves who never came to Aman; a term referring to the Elves who set out on the Great Journey but ultimately remained in Middle-earth, such as the Sindar and the Nandor.[1]
Other Versions of the Legendarium
Earlier names for these Elves were Ekelli,[2] replaced by Alamanyar, which was replaced by Úmanyar.[3]
