Úmarth means "ill-fate" in Sindarin

Túrin Turambar in Nargothrond, wished to hide his identity and introduced as Agarwaen He used the name Úmarth to refer to his father Húrin.

Etymology

Obviously negative prefix ú- and amarth "fate".
