1965 BBC Interview is a recorded interview with J.R.R. Tolkien on January 20, 1964, to be placed in the BBC's Recorded Programmes Permanent Library.[1]. The interview comprises a detailed discussion about The Lord of the Rings and whether Tolkien will be remembered for his fiction or his academic career.[2]

As a trial for this interview, Denys Gueroult had already made an informal recording of Tolkien in 1964 (see 1964 BBC Interview).
