• 1984 - The Book of Lost Tales Part 1 is released in North America.
• 2004 - At the 10th Screen Actors Guild Awards, The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King wins the award for "Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture". The award is accepted by Bernard Hill.

In Arda

• T.A. 3019:
  • The Fellowship of the Ring travels south down the Anduin.
  • Sam sees Gollum and talks about him to Frodo.
  • At night, Shadowfax arrives to Edoras.

Notes

In the text we are told that "the white rind of the new Moon could be seen glimmering in the remote lakes" which is mentioned about a dozen of hours than when Astronomy would calculate.
