From the Publisher
The artifacts of Middle-earth are the products of the mind; words and names, rather than skeletons and pottery shards. The literary baggage of each word and name is built up out of all the usages of that word or name that a reader has ever been exposed to. The purpose of this study is to offer the reader a glimpse into my literary baggage for the words that make up Tolkien's Legendarium.
