Aeglos was the name for the spear of Gil-galad, it isn't clear whether it is related to Aeglos the plant.

The spear is also spelled Aiglos in The Lord of the Rings but in The Lord of the Rings: A Reader's Companion, Wayne G. Hammond and Christina Scull state Aeglos is in fact the more correct spelling.
