Aftercomers

The Elves called the race of Men Hildor in Quenya, meaning "Aftercomers", for the Elves were the Firstborn and it was not until later that Men came upon Middle-earth. Men first awoke in Hildórien, meaning "Land of the Hildor", in the eastern regions of Middle-earth.
