The American Tolkien Society is a Tolkien society based across the United States.

The American Tolkien Society was founded in 1975 by Phil and Marci Helms, Paul Ritz and Dave Dettman. Its journal, Minas Tirith Evening Star, was published quarterly since 1967 as it was initially an independent publication.
