Amon Obel

Amon Obel was a hill in the midst of the Forest of Brethil[1] on which was built the settlement of Ephel Brandir, which became the main settlement of the Haladin.[2]

Etymology

Amon Obel is a Sindarin name "Fortified Hill" comprised of amon ("hill") and gobel ("walled settlement").
