ando is a noun meaning "gate" in Quenya.[1]

Ando is also the name in Quenya of the fifth letter of the Tengwar alphabet.[1] It is the first letter of the second grade or Tyellë, which contains "voiced stops" and it is the second letter in the dental or t-series of consonants, the Tincotéma.[2] In the standard spelling of Quenya Ando represents ND.[3] In all other modes this letter represents D.[2] The Westron name for this letter is .[4]
