Revision as of 09:00, 28 June 2011 by Sage (Talk | contribs)

Aranrúth was the sword of the Elven King Thingol of Doriath in the First Age. After his death the sword was passed on to his descendants. Elros, the first King of Númenor received it from Elwing , his mother, and from there on it became an heirloom of the Kings of Númenor. It was lost in the Downfall of Númenor.

Etymology

Aranrúth means "King's Ire" in Sindarin (from aran = "king" and rûth = "anger").
