Arantar (Q, pron. [aˈrantar]; T.A. 185[1] – 435,[2] died aged 250 years) was the fifth King of Arnor.

Arantar succeeded his father, Eldacar, when he died in 339. Arantar was the great-grandson of Isildur, last High King of both Gondor and Arnor.
He ruled uneventfully for ninety-six years, and was succeeded by his son, Tarcil, when he died in 435.[2]

Arantar's name is Quenya for "Lord of Kings", from aran meaning "king", and táro or tar meaning "lord".
