Template:Royalty infobox Arantar (Q, pron. [aˈrantar], stem Arantár-; T.A. 185 – 435, died aged 250 years) was the fifth King of Arnor, succeeded his father, Eldacar, when he died in 339. Arantar was the great-grandson of Isildur, last High King of both Gondor and Arnor.
History
He ruled uneventfully for ninety-six years, and was succeeded by his son, Tarcil, when he died in 435.
Etymology
Arantar's name is Quenya for "Lord of Kings", from aran meaning "king", and táro or tar meaning "lord"
