Baragund (F.A. 420-460) was a descendent of Bëor, and a member of Barahir's Outlaw Band.
History
Baragund was the second child and elder son of Bregolas. His sister was Beleth who was elder to him, and his brother was Belegund. Baragund had only one daughter, Morwen, with an unnamed wife.[1] Baragund and his brother Belegund partook in the Dagor Bragollach under the command of their uncle Barahir. They survived, but were beaten back.[2] With their uncle Barahir and ten others, they formed a small band and lived as outlaws in Dorthonion, near Tarn Aeluin.
They lived in hiding for some time, until Morgoth's agents captured Gorlim and coerced him into giving the location of their hideaway. Orcs were sent to raid it, and succeeded. Baragund and the outlaws were killed. Only Beren survived, as he had been away on an errand.[3] Baragund was the grandfather of the infamous Túrin through his daughter Morwen.

Etymology
The full meaning of Baragund is unknown. The first element is said to consist of the Exilic Noldorin word bara ("fiery, eager").[4] The second element could perhaps be gund (cf. Felagund).
