Belecthor I (Third Age 2545[1] – 2655,[2] aged 110 years) was the fifteenth Ruling Steward of Gondor.
History
Belecthor succeeded his father Húrin II at his death in Third Age 2628.[2] The Corsairs of Umbar were the major threat to Gondor at the time, although no major events are recorded.
Belecthor had two children: Morwen[1] and Orodreth.
He was followed by his son Orodreth at his death in 2655.[2]
Etymology
Belecthor could be composed of the words beleg and thor therefore meaning "mighty eagle".[source?]
