History

Belecthor succeeded his father Húrin II at his death in Third Age 2628.[1] The Corsairs of Umbar were the major threat to Gondor at the time, although no major events are recorded.

Belecthor had two children: Morwen[2] and Orodreth.

He was followed by his son Orodreth at his death in 2655.[1]

Etymology

Belecthor could be composed of the words beleg and thor therefore meaning "mighty eagle".
