Beregar was a nobleman of Númenor, descended from the House of Bëor. He lived in the region of Númenor known as the Westlands. Beregar married Núneth and they had a daughter named Erendis, who became Queen to Tar-Aldarion. Aldarion and Erendis had a daughter of their own, and so Beregar became the grandfather of the first Ruling Queen of Númenor, Tar-Ancalimë.

Etymology

Beregar's name is Sindarin but its meaning is difficult to determine. The first part of his name might be derived from the verb beria- 'to protect', while the end of his name could incorporate ar, 'noble'.
