Billy Barty (25 October, 1924 – 23 December, 2000) was a little person and an American film and television actor. His career spanned the 1920s to the 1990s. He was also an activist on behalf of people with dwarfism and he founded the "Little People of America" to aid others like himself.
In The Lord of the Rings (1978 film), Billy was the body double for the part of Bilbo Baggins and played Samwise Gamgee in rotoscoped footage.
