The Blackwold were a brigand of evil Men created for The Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar.

History

Nothing is said about the origins of the Blackwold. Yet, it is implied that they were a group of Men from Bree-land that broke their ties with the rest of the Free Peoples of Middle-earth. It is not stated what motiviated them to do so.

The group was led by William Skunkwood who allied the brigand with the forces of Angmar. The Blackwolds helped the Nine find the Hobbit who is carrying the One Ring. The Nazgûl did not inform them why they they were looking for the Hobbit nor did they give a discription of the Hobbit, only that the last name was Baggins. They mananged to capture Mundo Sackville-Baggins while he was staying at Archet. Just when they were attempting to transport him away for questioning, the Ranger Amdir frees him. Mundo along with his friend Celandine Brandybuck manage to burn their camp as they escape.

Later, after the death of William Skunkwood, the Blackwold are led by Éogan. He continues his alligence with Angar. He is also slain, but never stated how. With the Blackword leaderless they decide to break their ties with Angmar since it has proved unprofitable. The Dourhand Dwarves soon hear about their intentions and slay the rest of the Men.
