Borlas, also called Borlas of Pen-arduin, was the youngest son of Beregond, and was supposed to be central to the "The New Shadow".[1]
Borlas is Elvish and means perhaps "enduring joy", from Bór + glass.[2]
In early versions of the legendarium, Borlas was the name (later changed to Borlad) of a son of Bór.[3]
