Borlas of Pen-arduin was the youngest son of Beregond, and was supposed to be central to the "The New Shadow".[1]

Etymology

Borlas is Sindarin and means perhaps "enduring joy", from Bór + glass.[2]

In early versions of the legendarium, Borlas was the name (later changed to Borlad) of a son of Bór.[3]
