This article describes a concept which is mentioned in J.R.R. Tolkien's works, but was never given a definite name.

The belt of Boromir was gifted to him by Galadriel.

History

Before the Company of the Ring left Lothlórien, each of its members was presented with a gift by Galadriel. Boromir was given a belt of gold. After his death, when Aragorn, Gimli and Legolas laid him in his burial boat, the golden belt of Lórien gleamed about his waist. Later on, Faramir told Frodo and Sam that one night he saw the boat by Anduin and Boromir lay there dead. Only one thing did he not recognize: a fair belt, as it were of linked golden leaves, about his waist. Frodo said to Faramir that the belt was given to him in Lórien, and thus positively identified the dead man as Boromir.
