The Netherlands VS Kingdom of the Netherlands

Should we have a category for the Kingdom of the Netherlands (so all 4 states of the confederation) or should all states of the Kingdom deserve an own category (Aruba, Curaçau, Sint-Maarten and the Netherlands would all have an own category)? --Amroth 15:15, 25 July 2011 (UTC)

Non at all, but that doesn't mean we will have articles about Arubans, Curaçaons or Sint-Maarteneers in the future. If we decide for the first option we don't need to change anything at all, though we may have to create more one-page categories in the future. If we take the second option we have to change The Netherlands into Kingdom of the Netherlands, people would stay under Dutch people (the "confederal government" decided over citizenship, and all people in the kingdom have the same nationality). Locations and Organizations are debateble. I think that is splitted by every state, though I'm not sure.

For the people who don't know what the differences between the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Netherlands (with is not strange, I think even most Dutch don't know the difference) is:

Kingdom of the Netherlands, a confederation of the Netherlands, Aruba, Curaçao and Sint-Maarten.

The Netherlands, a state formed of the Europian part of the Kingdom (Europian Netherland) and Bonaire, Sint-Eustatius and Saba (Caribean Netherland). [Note: The Netherlands is sometimes also used in historical sense for the region what is now the Low Countries and France north of the Somme.]

Caribean Netherlands, the American part of the Netherlands: Bonaire, Saba and Sint-Eustatius.

I understand (indeed, already understood) the differences. But this is entirely hypothetical until the (statistically unlikely) scenario comes about; we don't create categories until there's something to put in them. --Mith (Talk/Contribs/Edits) 17:51, 25 July 2011 (UTC)
