Concerning Hobbits is the first part of the Prologue to The Lord of the Rings.

Concerning Hobbits details the history of Hobbits from their origins in the Vales of Anduin, to their movement into Eriador, their trusteeship of The Shire, and the events leading up to the War of the Ring. Concerning Hobbits also provides a broad description of the physical characteristics of Hobbits, as well as their manners, customs and important families.

2001: The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring:

"Concerning Hobbits" is the name of the second scene of the Extended Edition wherein "Concerning Hobbits" is the first chapter of Bilbo Baggins's book, in which he describes the nature of Hobbits. The audience hears Bilbo reading this aloud as a voiceover on top of scenes of life in The Shire.
