Cottar was the progenitor of the Cotton Family.
History
Cottar was born in S.R. 1220, and had two sons: Cotman and Carl. Cotman married Rose, the daughter of Holman the greenhanded.[1]
Etymology
In Middle English cottar means "cotter, cottager" (Old English cot "cottage").[2]
