This article describes a concept which is mentioned in J.R.R. Tolkien's works, but was never given a definite name.

Dáin's halls was a name used for the halls that formed the capital of the Grey Mountains, named after its founder Dáin I.

History

The Halls of Dáin were probably originally founded by the first exiled dwarves from Khazad-dûm; who had fled their homes because of the Balrog.

Dáin was killed by a great Cold-Drake along with his son Frór at the door of his halls. A year later, most of Durin's folk abandoned the mountains, and made for Erebor and the Iron Hills.
