Daniel T. Grotta (194413 December 2015[1]), sometimes credited as Daniel Grotta-Kurska, was a freelance journalist. Grotta wrote the first biography of J.R.R. Tolkien (even before Humphrey Carpenter). He gave many speeches on Tolkien, and appeared on both radio and TV shows discussing Tolkien and his work.
