David Leslie Edward Hemmings (November 18, 1941 - December 3, 2003) was a British actor. In later life, he was known for his distinctive eyebrows and booming voice, in films such as Gladiator, Gangs of New York and The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

In his youth, however, he was a boy soprano, and at the age of 14, he provided the voice of Bergil in the 1956 radio series of The Lord of the Rings.
