Dernhelm

Dernhelm was the alias taken by Éowyn when she broke the command of her uncle Théoden and rode to the Battle of the Pelennor Fields[1][2]. It was as Dernhelm that she first challenged the Witch-king of Angmar.[3]
Etymology
The name means "hidden protector" in Old English[4] (see Helm).
