Diamond of Long Cleeve (2995—?) was a hobbit of the Shire. She became the wife of Thain Peregrin Took in the 6th year of the Fourth Age. She is possibly one of the North-Tooks, decended from Bandobras Took (aka Bullroarer). She had one son Faramir, named for Steward Faramir of Gondor.

Her date of death is not known, but she probably died sometime before Fo.A. 63, when Pippin left the Shire to live in Gondor.

Etymology

Diamond derives from Latin diamant- which is a combination of adamant- and Greek διαφανής "transparent"[1] (see Adamanta Chubb).

The jewel name supports the possibility that she was of a noble family, such as the North-Tooks.
