Donald Swann (September 30, 1923–March 23, 1994) recorded various songs related to J.R.R. Tolkien's works in The Road Goes Ever On, A Song Cycle.
He was previously associated with wheelchair-bound Michael Flanders, and performed many times as "Flanders & Swann", singing their humourous and witty songs, such as "The Hippopotamus" and "I'm a Gnu (spelt G-N-U)"
