Eärnil I (Third Age 736 – 936, aged 200 years) was the thirteenth King of Gondor and the second Ship-king.
In Third Age 913 he succeeded his illustrious uncle Tarannon Falastur who died childless. He was the son of Tarannon's brother Tarciryan. He continued with the expansionist maritime policy of his predecessor and captured the Haven of Umbar in 933. He was tragically lost at sea near Umbar and succeeded by his son Ciryandil.
