The Elves of Lindon were those Elves who dwelt in Lindon in the west of Middle-earth, between the Blue Mountains and the Great Sea, in the Second and Third Ages.
Presumably they were descendants of the Laiquendi of Ossiriand and other Elves (Noldor and Sindar) of the former Beleriand who survived the War of Wrath.
They reached the height of their power in the Second Age under King Gil-galad. In S.A. 1700, when Sauron had conquered all Eriador, Tar-Minastir sent a fleet to Lindon, aiding the Elves of Lindon to drive Sauron out of Eriador.[1] Sauron's army was driven back and defeated near Sarnford and withdrew to Tharbad.[2]
At the end of the Age, Gil-galad joined the Last Alliance and led his armies to the War of the Last Alliance. Some of the Silvan Elves felt hostility towards the Noldor, and those under Oropher and Amdir attacked independedly, suffering heavy losses.[3]
During the Third Age, the Elves of Lindon under Cirdan supported Arnor in the Angmar War and the Battle of Fornost.[4]
