Essais de philologie moderne (1951) is a collection of the proceedings of a conference held at the University of Liège in 1951. It includes J.R.R. Tolkien's essay "Middle English 'Losenger'" (pp. 63-76). All other contributions to this volume are in French.
Copies presented to attendees include a printed thank you message, and their name written by hand, on the verso of the title page. In "normal" copies this page is blank.
