Ferumbras Took II was a Thain of the Shire.
History
Ferumbras was the oldest son of Thain Isumbras III, though in fame he was outshone by his younger brother, Bandobras, who moved to the Northfarthing and won the Battle of Greenfields. Ferumbras instead became Thain, and was succeeded in turn by his son Fortinbras.[1]
Etymology
Ferumbras is a name from the legends of Roland, a corruption of Frankish fier à bras, "brave arm".
