During the early Valian Years, Melkor battles the other Valar and mars Arda during its formation. Melkor struggled to undo the work of the Valar, demolishing mountains they created, and raising up valleys they brought into being. This conflict lasted for an age. Yet the Valar eventually prevailed, and the Earth slowly took shape.
