The ford of the River [[Bruinen]] or [[Loudwater]] (Also know as the [[Ford of Rivendell]]) that lay at the entrance to the valley of [[Rivendell]], said to be under the power of [[Elrond]]. In the book this was the place of crossing chosen by [[Aragorn II|Aragorn]] to enter Rivendell in [[The Fellowship of the Ring]].  In the Book it was [[Glorfindel]] who helped them cross by placing [[Frodo Baggins|Frodo]] on his horse and the horse carried Frodo across just as Elrond and [[Gandalf]] summonded a great [[Flood of Bruinen]] to carry away the pursuing [[Nazgul]].

In the book this was the place of crossing chosen by Aragorn to enter Rivendell in The Fellowship of the Ring. In the Book it was Glorfindel who helped them cross by placing Frodo on his horse and the horse carried Frodo across just as Elrond and Gandalf summonded a great Flood of Bruinen to carry away the pursuing Nazgul.
