The ford of the River [[Bruinen]] or [[Loudwater]] (Also know as the [[Ford of Rivendell]]) that lay at the entrance to the valley of [[Rivendell]], said to be under the power of [[Elrond]]. In the book this was the place of crossing chosen by [[Aragorn]] to enter Rivendell in [[The Fellowship of the Ring]].  In the Book it was [[Glorfindel]] who helped them cross by placing [[Frodo Baggins|Frodo]] on his horse and the horse carried Frodo across just as Elrond and [[Gandalf]] summonded a great [[Flood of Bruinen]] to carry away the pursuing [[Nazgûl]].
