The ford of the River [[Bruinen]] or [[Loudwater]] (Also know as the Ford of Rivendell) that lay at the entrance to the valley of [[Rivendell]], said to be under the power of [[Elrond]]. In the book this was the place of crossing chosen by [[Aragorn]] to enter Rivendell in The Fellowship of the Ring.  In the Book it was [[Glorfindal]] who helped them cross by placing [[Frodo]] on his horse and the horse carried Frodo across just as Elrond and [[Gandalf]] summonded a great [[Flood of Bruinen]] to carry away the pursuing [[Nazgul]].

In the Book it was Glorfindel who helped them cross by placing Frodo on his horse and the horse carried Frodo across just as Elrond and Gandalf summonded a great Flood of Bruinen to carry away the pursuing Nazgul.
