Forelithe, or Lithe in Bree, was the sixth month of the Shire Calendar, lying between Thrimidge and the midsummer Lithedays, and approximately corresponding to modern 22 May through 20 June.[1]

Etymology[edit | edit source]

The name represents a modernization of the Old English name for June, Æ'rra Líþa meaning "before lithe".[2]
