Forlindon was a name for the northern part of Lindon, formed when the land was divided by the Gulf of Lhûn after the end of the First Age.

On its southern shores was the haven of Forlond, while off its northwestern coasts stood the island of Himring, where Maedhros' fortress had once stood.

Etymology

The name Forlindon likely means "North Lindon",[1] derived from forod ("north") + lindon.
