Forum:Dwarves and their 'Ones'?
Hi! I read somewhere that wen a dwarf falls in love it is not like other races, they know they've found their soulmate when their skin touches. They are called their 'One'. Very few Dwarves fall in love, as their aren't many female Dwarves. This is what I was told, but I wanted to know if it was true. I'm relatively new to this and want to make sure this isn't a random fangirl invention! Thanks, Dwarvishskylark
- Sorry, but as far as I can tell, that's fan fic. It's true, though, that there aren't as many female dwarves, and not all of them marry. --Ederchil (Talk/Contribs/Edits) 12:15, 19 January 2014 (UTC)
- It's either a "random fangirl invention", or something that occurs in some RPG or other fantasy setting. I don't think that such a detail can be found in Tolkien's books. We know so little about Dwarven mating that if such detail was to be found in the published books, it surely would have been reproduced in the many FAQs and articles online, and I would have read it somewhere by now. I think that's a different saga I actually think I remember something like that in a Dragonlance novel Throrin Longbeard 23:49, 4 April 2014 (UTC)
