But it took about a day or two for dmoz to add us to the Encyclopedia category, quite satisfactory for me. Seeing as thousands of websites, like yourself, copy the dmoz database it makes sense to add a link there where it will be mirrored across thousands of websites. They have almost a hundred thousand editors, after only a second of copying their database chainki became out of date. 		+	::Dmoz is currently a very important site, I agree. But for the record, the number of ''active'' editors is only a few thousand. The huge number quoted on the front page of dmoz is the number of editors they have had ''in total'' since the beginning of the life of dmoz. Of course you (like many others) have swallowed this little deception. You were one of the lucky ones in getting your site listed so quickly - a brief look at http://resource-zone.com/forum/showthread.php?t=35761 shows that there are many others who are waiting a lot longer. Sure, many of these sites may just be poor quality sites, but there are 2 things which I find awful about dmoz: firstly that many sites do take so long to get listed, and secondly, if not even worse, that there is absolutely no feedback mechanism, so that someone who has submitted their site doesn't have a clue whether it will take 2 days or 2 years to get listed. It is these sorts of things that make me believe that one day, sooner or later, dmoz will lose the market to a wiki-based solution, and I believe this strongly enough to the point of investing a large part of my time in trying to do just that with http://chainki.org . And as Chainki is a ''fork'', not a ''mirror'' of dmoz, I would say, yes a second later, the databases differ, but I say, hooray, farewell dmoz, bring on different changes from people direct to Chainki and let's have Chainki as different from dmoz as possible. I think as well the "mirrored across thousands of websites" is also rather an illusion; there are only 2 mirrors which I can think are of any value: the Google mirror and the Yahoo mirror. I think what we can do is have a primary [[Timeline]] article which with the help of the include function, simply grabs the content from four other articles; [[First Age]], [[Second Age]], [[Third Age]] and [[Fourth Age]]. Now these articles also do the same, their content is actually coming from the specific year articles. This way we are only writing down the events in their specific year article, but they are included into various. Having a Category which contains them all is also a good idea. I like this idea and will try to get some progress on it soon. What kind of formatting do you suggest? ''1000 F.A.'', ''1000 FA'', ''F.A. 1000'', ''FA 1000'', what about '''F'''irst and '''F'''ourth Ages, how do you abbreviate?

The huge number quoted on the front page of dmoz is the number of editors they have had ''in total'' since the beginning of the life of dmoz. Of course you (like many others) have swallowed this little deception. You were one of the lucky ones in getting your site listed so quickly - a brief look at http://resource-zone.com/forum/showthread.php?t=35761 shows that there are many others who are waiting a lot longer. Sure, many of these sites may just be poor quality sites, but there are 2 things which I find awful about dmoz: firstly that many sites do take so long to get listed, and secondly, if not even worse, that there is absolutely no feedback mechanism, so that someone who has submitted their site doesn't have a clue whether it will take 2 days or 2 years to get listed. It is these sorts of things that make me believe that one day, sooner or later, dmoz will lose the market to a wiki-based solution, and I believe this strongly enough to the point of investing a large part of my time in trying to do just that with http://chainki.org . And as Chainki is a ''fork'', not a ''mirror'' of dmoz, I would say, yes a second later, the databases differ, but I say, hooray, farewell dmoz, bring on different changes from people direct to Chainki and let's have Chainki as different from dmoz as possible. The huge number quoted on the front page of dmoz is the number of editors they have had ''in total'' since the beginning of the life of dmoz. Of course you (like many others) have swallowed this little deception. You were one of the lucky ones in getting your site listed so quickly - a brief look at http://resource-zone.com/forum/showthread.php?t=35761 shows that there are many others who are waiting a lot longer. Sure, many of these sites may just be poor quality sites, but there are 2 things which I find awful about dmoz: firstly that many sites do take so long to get listed, and secondly, if not even worse, that there is absolutely no feedback mechanism, so that someone who has submitted their site doesn't have a clue whether it will take 2 days or 2 years to get listed. It is these sorts of things that make me believe that one day, sooner or later, dmoz will lose the market to a wiki-based solution, and I believe this strongly enough to the point of investing a large part of my time in trying to do just that with http://chainki.org . And as Chainki is a ''fork'', not a ''mirror'' of dmoz, I would say, yes a second later, the databases differ, but I say, hooray, farewell dmoz, bring on different changes from people direct to Chainki and let's have Chainki as different from dmoz as possible. The huge number quoted on the front page of dmoz is the number of editors they have had ''in total'' since the beginning of the life of dmoz. Of course you (like many others) have swallowed this little deception. You were one of the lucky ones in getting your site listed so quickly - a brief look at http://resource-zone.com/forum/showthread.php?t=35761 shows that there are many others who are waiting a lot longer. Sure, many of these sites may just be poor quality sites, but there are 2 things which I find awful about dmoz: firstly that many sites do take so long to get listed, and secondly, if not even worse, that there is absolutely no feedback mechanism, so that someone who has submitted their site doesn't have a clue whether it will take 2 days or 2 years to get listed. It is these sorts of things that make me believe that one day, sooner or later, dmoz will lose the market to a wiki-based solution, and I believe this strongly enough to the point of investing a large part of my time in trying to do just that with http://chainki.org . And as Chainki is a ''fork'', not a ''mirror'' of dmoz, I would say, yes a second later, the databases differ, but I say, hooray, farewell dmoz, bring on different changes from people direct to Chainki and let's have Chainki as different from dmoz as possible. Since Tolkien's birth its only been a bit over 100 years, First, Second, Third, and Fourth Ages are a tad longer...but I'm rather crazy and would consider doing an article for every year where an event happened, it's at least something no one else has attempted. I think what we can do is have a primary [[Timeline]] article which with the help of the include function, simply grabs the content from four other articles; [[First Age]], [[Second Age]], [[Third Age]] and [[Fourth Age]]. Now these articles also do the same, their content is actually coming from the specific year articles. This way we are only writing down the events in their specific year article, but they are included into various. Having a Category which contains them all is also a good idea. I like this idea and will try to get some progress on it soon. What kind of formatting do you suggest? ''1000 F.A.'', ''1000 FA'', ''F.A. 1000'', ''FA 1000'', what about '''F'''irst and '''F'''ourth Ages, how do you abbreviate?	+
