Hi!

I am extremely new here and have been trying to figure things out- so sort of an introduction...

I have a question concerning the screenplays section. I think it's a great idea, and I would love to contribute diolouge or at least ideas. But I have only read the Silmarillion, The Lord of the Rings books and the hobbit, (though I've researched a little more...). Do I need the exact wording to contribute to a part in, say The Fall of Gondolin if I have only read the version provided in the silmarillion? Can I contribute ideas or concepts if I can't provide the exact diolouge?

Forgive me if I have broken any rules or norms, I understand this isn't a typical forum.... Unsigned comment by Maeglin (talk • contribs).

Hello Maeglin, always nice to see new faces. The screenplays here are something I really like since a wiki is almost a perfect medium for collaborative editing of a screenplay. You are free (and encouraged) to contribute anything to the screenplay you think would improve it, and The Fall of Gondolin has a long way to go. We would love to see your dialogue, concepts, ideas, etc. We're a pretty friendly bunch and everything can easily be fixed/changed so don't worry about messing anything up :) I think a film which stuck too closely to the exact dialogue in The Fall of Gondolin might make for a less successful film so feel free change whatever you deem necessary. I'll try and help out when I can and I'll see if I can find some more interested contributors as it is always more fun when others are expanding the screenplay too. If you have any specific questions or ideas on the screenplay you would like to discuss you can add them to the screenplay's talk page. And if you have any questions on the wiki in general my talk page is always open. Thanks for your help and we look forward to seeing you around :) --Hyarion 16:04, 27 April 2008 (EDT)
