Hello.  I'm not very web page savvy, so I'm asking for some assistance.  How do I upload an image file into an existing article?  Also, does my image have to exist on a site like Photobucket so that it may link to this site, or can I upload from my own computer?

Thank you! {{unsigned|Pdisante}}

:Hello, I would be happy to help. Once you are logged in if you look on the left-hand menu you will see a "Upload file" link under the "Toolbox" text. Click that. Then click "Browse" and navigate to the file on your computer which you would like to upload. If you want to change the name of the filename feel free to do so in the "Destination filename" field, something like "Artist - Title of image.jpg" is what we usually use. You don't have to add anything in the summary unless you'd like to, we usually add <nowiki>[[Category:Images by Name of artist here]]</nowiki>. Then click "Upload file" and you should be set and it will forward you to the image page. If it warns you that the image is too large you might consider shrinking the filesave or quality of it a bit but don't worry about that, we can always handle it later.

:Now once it is uploaded the next step is to insert it into an article. The most common usage is by typing this: <nowiki>[[Image:Artist - Title of image.jpg|thumb|This is the caption for the image]]</nowiki>. This will automatically right-align the image, and create a thumbnail of it and add the caption below the text. If you want to change the width of the image you can also type "250px|" after "thumb|", etc. Let me know if you have any questions and glad to have you aboard. Oh and just in case that didn't answer your question, no it doesn't have to be on a site like photobucket, just as long as you have a copy on your hard drive. --[[User:Hyarion|Hyarion]] 22:04, 16 December 2006 (EST)

::Thank you very much.  I will give this a try.  {{unsigned|Pdisante}}

:::No problem :) Looks like you did great on uploading and adding it to the page, awesome image by the way! Just for future reference, you can sign a comment such as this by clicking the second icon from the right in the list of icons above this textbox (it looks like a signature). This will insert your signature at the end of the comment. Hope to see you around here more often :) --[[User:Hyarion|Hyarion]] 22:42, 16 December 2006 (EST)

Thanks, Hyarion!  I'll try the signature out now.--[[User:Pdisante|Pdisante]] 23:20, 16 December 2006 (EST)

Okay, one last question:  How can I delete one of the images I uploaded?  I thought I had uploaded my "Strider" illustration incorrectly, but I see that now two of them are showing up on my contributions page.  I'd like to get rid of the one not linked to the article.  Thank you!--[[User:Pdisante|Pdisante]] 23:40, 16 December 2006 (EST)

:Normally you can just add <nowiki>{{delete}}</nowiki> to the article and it will show up in the deletion queue, for security reasons not everyone has access to delete pages. However I see the image and have already deleted it. Thanks again for all your help! --[[User:Hyarion|Hyarion]] 00:11, 17 December 2006 (EST)
