Forweg was a Man of the People of Hador, who deserted the field of the Nirnaeth Arnoediad ("Battle of Unnumbered Tears"), and fled into the south to live as an outlaw. He was the leader of the Gaurwaith, the outlaw band that Túrin Turambar joined after leaving Doriath, though Túrin soon took over Forweg's captaincy of the outlaws.
