Fourth Age 21 (abbreviated to Fo.A. 21 or F.O.) is the 21st year of the Sun of the Fourth Age of Middle-earth. Unless otherwise stated, Tolkien Gateway follows Shire usage in Appendix B for reckoning Fourth Age years: Fourth Age 21 was also known as S.R. 1442 in Shire-reckoning.
Notable events in this year include:
- Samwise, Rose and Elanor ride to Gondor and stay there for a year. During this period, Master Tolman Cotton acts as deputy Mayor.[1]
- Birth of Tolman Gardner, thirteenth child and seventh son of Samwise Gamgee and Rose Cotton.[2]
