Fourth Age 42 (abbreviated to Fo.A. 42 or F.O.) is the 42nd year of the Sun of the Fourth Age of Middle-earth. Unless otherwise stated, Tolkien Gateway follows Shire usage in Appendix B for reckoning Fourth Age years: Fourth Age 42 was also known as S.R. 1463 in Shire-reckoning.
Notable events in this year include:
- Faramir Took I, son of Thain Peregrin Took I, weds Goldilocks Gardner, daughter of Samwise Gamgee and Rose Cotton.[1]
