Midyear's Day
- Rose Cotton, wife of Samwise Gamgee, dies.[1]
September
Later
- Samwise comes to the Tower Hills and gives the Red Book of Westmarch to Elanor. Samwise passes over the Sea to West, last of the Ring-bearers.[1]
Note
In the reckoning Gondor, Fourth Age years began on the first day of the month of Víressë, which corresponded to 25 March in the Shire Calendar.[2] Since mayoral elections in the Shire occurred on Mid-year's Day,[3] which is after 25 March, Sam's re-election as mayor is definitely in Fourth Age 62, as well as the following events.
